Take your first steps along Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail, a historic walking path that snakes past many of Beantown’s most famous landmarks from the colonial and revolutionary-eras. Check out the stately Faneuil Hall and explore both Boston’s Old and New State Houses before stopping to pay your respects at the site of the 1770 Boston Massacre.

Continue by foot past the Old Corner Bookstore and King’s Chapel before heading toward Boston’s downtown area. As you head into the forest of skyscrapers, catch a few glimpses of the Boston of old along the way, including Boston Common, the Public Garden, and one of the world’s smallest suspension bridges.

Arriving downtown, gaze up at the John Hancock Tower before passing by the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church? Want to feel like a real winner? Make sure to take a ceremonial pass over the finish line location for the famous Boston Marathon. End your trip amidst the beautiful architecture of Copley Square.

This was a great tour, I think the error is in not describing it well enough. This is not walking the full length of the freedom trail and it's less history focused and more architecture forward. The tour guide was ok, very personable. It's an easy 2.3mi according to my Garmin, but it doesn't feel like that long of a walk as there are many stops. If you want a great overview of the main parts of Voston, this is a great tour. If you want deep history or a comprehensive freedom walk tour, this is not the tour for you.

I am sorry, but nobody described this tour as the full length of the Freedom Trail. It is the Downtown Freedom Trail from Faneuil Hall to Boston Common plus Back Bay via Beacon Hill. And, yes, it does include architecture. And culture of Boston as well. And none of this is of the Cliff Notes variety. But I do agree that this is a great overview of Boston!!

Nothing too memorable for us…the tour guide seemed knowledgeable, but there was no chemistry there. It was very cold for a 10 am two hour tour, so we ditched half way through and went into Emmett’s for Irish Coffee to warm us up. We finished up the freedom trail tour self guided, and looked up the info on the sites we saw on our phones.

It was a chilly and windy February morning, but we still thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide, Alec, was entertaining and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the historic sites during the freedom trail portion of the tour. We loved walking through Beacon Hill and Back Bay, and found ourselves spending the afternoon there after the tour was over. We highly recommend this experience!

We were so lucky as there were only the 2 of us, it was like having a private tour with our guide, Alan. He is very knowledgeable about Boston’s history and we got an informative tour along with suggestions of other sites to see which were not included in this tour. We even shuffled the Boston Marathon in the snow on the commemorative circle in the footpath near Copley Square.
